The new centre will broaden Wipro’s service capabilities along with its existing presence in Paramatta and Adelaide.

“I congratulate Wipro for its decision to open one of its world-class development centres here in Melbourne. Today’s announcement re-affirms why Victoria is a great place to do business with a growing economy, highly skilled workforce and supportive government,” said Mr Brumby.

“We are transforming our Retail business and Wipro is a key partner on that journey, providing back office services and expertise in SAP system implementation,” Origin Executive General Manager, Frank Calabria, said. “The Melbourne Development Centre is the key location for Wipro delivering those services to Origin and we are pleased to support the official opening today.”

Mr Rajat Mathur, Senior Vice President and Chief Sales and Operations Officer, Wipro commented, “Wipro is extremely pleased to be increasing its investment in Australia by establishing this new centre in Melbourne. Australia is an important market for us and we enjoy a good deal of business success here as Australian companies demonstrate a continued appetite for our global service delivery model.
