Winners of NASSCOM IT user awards across diverse verticals
December 30, 2009
Recognizing the importance of identifying India’s forerunners in the area of IT adoption, NASSCOM has collaborated with CNBC TV 18 to institute the NASSCOM CNBC TV18 IT User Award. These have become the pre-eminent awards for the IT user community in India. The current edition includes a combination of IT implementation leaders (Banking, Insurance, Manufacturing, Automobiles and Auto-Components, Financial Services, Telecom, e-Governance, etc.) and emerging sectors (Healthcare, Travel, Utilities and Energy, etc.) where the potential for transformational impact of IT is immense. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Rajdeep Sahrawat, Vice President, NASSCOM said “While there is no doubt that there has been a strong upward bias in the domestic IT market growth during the recent years, India continues to be under invested in IT. This is particularly true of the micro and SME firms. Beyond certain verticals where the IT adoption has been traditionally high, firms in most verticals have not been able to leverage IT as a competitive lever.
Increasing IT adoption in India is a strategic priority at NASSCOM and the NASSCOM CNBC TV18 IT User Award is a key initiative in our endeavors. Through these awards, we not only acknowledge the IT adoption leaders across several verticals but more importantly showcase how the winners have been able to leverage IT for growth and increasing their competitiveness. The current edition is the sixth in the series and we are pleased that the awards have achieved a high aspirational value among the IT user community.”
