TCS Wins 2009 Excellence Award

Mumbai, India, October 20, 2009: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), (BSE: TCS.BO, NSE: TCS.NS), a leading global IT services and consulting firm, announced today that Technology Marketing Corporation’s (TMC) INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine named TCS’ IPTV service as a recipient of the 2009 IPTV Excellence Award. TCS was chosen for the award based on its expertise in the burgeoning area of IPTV and the significant role it has played in the launch and subsequent support and enhancement of IPTV services provided by BT, under the product name of BT Vision.
TCS has developed significant domain expertise in IPTV technologies in order to launch, scale and optimize IPTV services. TCS has developed a comprehensive IPTV Monetization Framework (IMF) and an IPTV Optimization Framework (IOF) to help service providers’ gain increased ROI and achieve operational excellence.
