September 30, 2009

Singapore, September 30, 2009: Tata Consultancy Services (BSE: TCS.BO, NSE: TCS.NS), the leading IT services, business solutions and outsourcing firm today announced that it has been chosen by Singapore’s People’s Association, a statutory board under the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports, to provide annual Application Management Services (AMS) for two years in a multi-million dollar deal. The People’s Association is a grassroots government organization in Singapore.

Under the agreement, TCS will develop and maintain People’s Associations’ business and citizen centric applications including mission critical applications. This involves consolidating its multiple vendor environments allowing reduced maintenance costs and simplified system administration. This will enable higher process efficiency and staff productivity across the organization – all these will contribute towards lower costs spent on application maintenance, while improving end user satisfaction and enhancing citizen experience with the agency.

Girija Pande, EVP and Head, TCS Asia Pacific said: “Our expertise in AMS, combined with our ability to deliver certainty of results will provide sustained value to People’s Association. We have instilled strict quality control procedures and continue to drive more value for our Singaporean clients through increased service quality provided by our team of highly qualified people with local knowledge of culture and processes.”

The government/public sector is one of the focus areas for TCS in Asia Pacific. TCS has an exceptional track record in engagements locally with national icons such as Singapore’s flag carrier SIA, Temasek Holdings, GIC, DBS Bank, and so on. TCS has recently implemented TCS Bancs Corporate Actions business application for the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC) which has successfully gone live.

TCS has established a presence in Singapore for over 20 years, and has over 30 customers including Singapore Airlines, Citibank Asia Pacific, General Electric, Singapore Exchange, Temasek Holdings, Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC), Standard Chartered Bank, ING Bank and others.
